Today high temperatures rose into the upper 80s to near 100 across
the Central Plains. Showers and storms impacted eastern Kansas and
northern Oklahoma with some severe storms in Kansas. The strongest
storms produced up to 50 mph, hail up to two inches and locally
heavy rainfall. Mostly sunny skies were observed with relatively
light winds up to 15 mph.

Tonight low temperatures will range from the lower 60s in western
Nebraska to the lower 70s in northern Oklahoma. A few isolated
storms are possible mainly in Nebraska and western Missouri with
a few strong to marginally severe storms possible. Outside of
slight chances for storms, mostly clear skies and relatively light
winds around 5 mph are expected overnight.

For Saturday, it will be a warm day across the Central Plains as
high temperatures rise into the 90s and lower 100s. Widely
scattered storms will be possible mainly in eastern Nebraska.
Outside of storm chances, mostly sunny skies and winds between 10
to 15 mph are expected across the region.
