.DISCUSSION...
Dry conditions are expected across central and southeast IL through
tonight. Widespread showers along with a few thunderstorms will spread
eastward across the area during Friday and continue Friday night and
Saturday. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms could linger overnight
Saturday night and Sunday especially in east central and southeast IL.
Between three quarter and 1.5 inches of rain is likely Friday through
Saturday evening, with locally 1.5-2.5 inches from Macomb to Bloomington
north. Southeast transport winds of 5 to 10 mph to prevail today and
south 12-17 mph on Friday. Poor vent rates are expected today through
Friday, except fair vent rates in eastern IL Friday due to stronger
transport winds despite lower mixing heights on Friday.
