Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
247 AM EDT Fri Oct 2 2026

.DISCUSSION...A cold front will cross the area from north to south
this afternoon and bring a noticeably cooler air mass to the area
for this weekend. Showers and perhaps some thunderstorms will
impact most places as the front arrives. Shower activity will also
probably linger behind the front, especially in southeast
Kentucky, where the potential for rain continues at times through
much of Sunday. The most likely rainfall amounts are from around
one-third of an inch to the north to over one inch across the
south before the weekend is finished.
