Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
213 PM EST Fri Nov 28 2025

.DISCUSSION...Dry conditions with well below normal temperatures
persist through Saturday, with the lowest minimum relative
humidity occurring Saturday afternoon. Increasing clouds aloft
Saturday will limit mixing, which will also limit transport winds
despite increasing flow aloft. The increasing clouds and flow
aloft will be brought about by the next storm system which will
impact the area. A low pressure system moving northeast over the
Midwest will send a cold front toward us from the northwest
Saturday night, with the front passing through during the day
Sunday. The front will bring rain and possibly a bit of snow to
the area, but amounts of either one will be light. More
significant precipitation is possible with another storm system in
the Monday night-Tuesday time frame.
