Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
800 AM EST Thu Nov 6 2025

...Critically Low Relative Humidity Levels Today...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will bring a warm, dry day with
minimum relative humidity values in the 20 to 35 percent range.
Winds will remain light and variable, mitigating fire weather
concerns. Expect a warm and breezy Friday as a cold front
approaches, with wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph. Minimum relative
humidity levels will be higher though, generally in the 45 to 60
percent range. The front will bring showers and thunderstorms
Friday afternoon and evening, some of which could be strong to
severe with damaging winds. The system exits Friday night, but a
much stronger surge of cold air arrives Sunday. This will bring
the coldest air of the season, with the first snowflakes possible
Sunday night into Monday.
