Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
502 PM EST Mon Dec 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...Drier weather is expected through Tuesday night as
high pressure will dominate the weather. However, another quick
moving system will quickly track from the Northern Plains to the
Great Lakes for Tuesday and Tuesday night and then into the St
Lawrence Valley on Wednesday. The cold front associated with
that system will cross eastern KY Wednesday followed by a
secondary front Wednesday night to early on Thursday. The first
front will bring a good chance for rain showers and then as
colder air moves in behind it and with the secondary front
any remaining showers will gradually mix with and then change
to snow showers. Additional system crossing the area to end
the week will bring additional chances for light snow, though
well below normal temperatures will be not most notable impact.
