Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY

...Strong Wind Gusts Through Early This Morning...

.DISCUSSION...Showers, with a few embedded storms possible
through early this morning across southeastern Kentucky, will
gradually diminish across the area from northwest to southeast
through this afternoon, as a cold front moves through the
Commonwealth. Southwest winds will gust to between 25 and 35
mph at times through early this morning, mainly in exposed
areas and on ridgetops. Winds will then shift to the northwest
behind the frontal passage, remaining gusty, but generally
diminishing through the day. High pressure will build in
tonight and continue to maintain control through Sunday, with
temperatures dipping to below normal. An unsettled pattern will
then set up next week, with several rounds rainfall possible
through the period. Temperatures will also average above normal.
