Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Jackson KY
326 PM EST Fri Dec 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...Drier weather is expected tonight, however, a passing
disturbance may bring some sprinkles or flurries to areas near and
north of the Mountain Parkway on Saturday. High pressure should lead
to precipitation free weather Saturday evening into Sunday morning,
before a low pressure system approaches leading to a good chance
for rain showers. As the system`s cold front passes and colder
air filters in, any remaining rain showers should mix with and
change to snow showers on Sunday night. Some snow showers should
linger into Monday. After a lull in precipitation chances,
additional systems should cross the Commonwealth during the middle
to end of the week. On Wednesday, winds and gusts should increase
and some gusts to 30 mph or stronger are possible. Overall,
temperatures should average below normal over the next week.
