Through 1100 pm, stratiform rain with isolated embedded stronger
showers will wax and wane across the western Florida Keys as well as
the adjacent nearshore and offshore coastal waters. The strongest
activity is located south of the Lower Keys in the nearshore and
distant Straits of Florida. This activity will move generally to the
northwest near 15 knots. Mariners encountering the stronger activity
can expect wind gusts of near 25 knots, reduced visibilities in
moderate to heavy downpours, and possibly a few lightning strikes. On
land, island communities between Cudjoe Key and Key West may receive
up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall.
