Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
301 AM CDT Sun Jun 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns will remain low through the middle of the
upcoming week.

Temperatures will likely remain above normal to start the new week
but should also coincide with late evening/overnight rain and
thunderstorm chances. The potential for widespread wetting rains
appears limited until Monday night when a larger disturbance
arrives from the west. The current forecast calls for all
locations to see a half inch or greater rain Monday afternoon
through Tuesday night with a few locations seeing heavier amounts
closer to two inches.

For the late week, temperatures will increase considerably with
afternoon highs reaching the middle 90s to low triple digits. This
will be accompanied by drier air which may introduce humidity
values falling to around 20 percent. At this time, concern is
limited due to the lack of stronger winds and questions regarding
fuel receptiveness.
