...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CHERRY COUNTY
THROUGH 315 AM CDT...

At 225 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles east of Merritt Reservoir, or 13 miles southwest of Valentine,
moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River and Schlagel Creek State
Wildlife Management Area.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 20 between mile markers 199 and 216.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 124 and 130, and between mile
markers 135 and 138.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 196 and 207.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in North Platte.
