Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 PM CDT Sat Oct 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Low pressure offshore will combine with high pressure to the
north of the area to produce a persistent east to northeast wind
through tomorrow. Winds will generally range between 10 and
20 mph with occasional gusts to 25 mph, especially near the
coast. Rainfall will be confined to areas south of I-10 today.
Tomorrow and Monday, rain will overspread the entire area as the
offshore low moves inland to the west of the area. A return to a
drier and warmer regime will occur by the middle of next week as
high pressure becomes more dominant over the region. Winds will
also decrease back to 5 to 10 mph as the high builds in.
