WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: The upper level low continues to travel
across Nevada, bringing strong winds across the forecast area.
The strongest winds have been recorded in White Pine county,
gusting around 45 mph, but gusts of 35 mph have been reported
across Northeastern Nevada. Winds are expected to remain strong
through sunset, and some blowing dust is possible as a result.
Gusty winds return tomorrow, but with peak gusts around 25 to 30
mph as the low exits to the east. The low will also be responsible
for some isolated showers and thunderstorms through Friday night,
mainly along the northern and eastern state borders.
Additionally, tomorrow is the coolest day of the current forecast,
with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. The lows exit marks a
temporary end to precipitation potential as the moisture exits
with it, leaving a dry and warming weekend. Isolated showers
return for Monday and Tuesday due to a weak Pacific low traversing
California and Nevada. This low will move much quicker, exiting
the region by Wednesday morning, leaving behind southwest flow and
near normal temperatures to end the work week and the forecast
period.


FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: High confidence in strong winds
today. Moderate confidence in showers and thunderstorms today and
tomorrow. Winds and PoPs were increased through tomorrow night to
account for an NBM low winds bias and under representation of
precipitation potential during this period.

.AVIATION...VFR conditions look to be the primary flight
conditions through Friday afternoon. Upper trough to our northwest
will strengthen SW winds to 15 to 30 KT with gust up to 40 KT
possible for KTPH and KELY. Winds for northern NV will be lighter,
but still breezy out of the W to SW at 15 to 25 KT with a few
gust up to 35 KT possible. There will be a low 10% to 30% chance
for VCTS for KELY and KENV this evening due to tropical moisture
lifting northwest from Utah.

.FIRE WEATHER...Red Flag Warning continues in zones 426 and 427
through this evening due to south-southwest winds gusting 35 mph
and RH of 10% to 20%. While light showers and isolated
thunderstorms are expected along the northern and southern state
borders today and tomorrow, wetting rains are not. Fair weather
expected for the weekend.
