(This afternoon through Tuesday) WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A ridge of high pressure will build eastward across Northern Nevada this afternoon and Thursday. A warming trend is expected this afternoon and Thursday. High temperatures throughout Northern and Central Nevada this afternoon will be around five degrees warmer than yesterday afternoon. Maximum temperatures across Northern and Central Nevada Thursday afternoon will be about ten degrees above seasonal values. An anticyclone aloft will be centered over Southern Nevada Friday. This upper-level area of high pressure will move eastward across the Desert Southwest this weekend. High temperatures each afternoon Friday through Sunday will be around fifteen degrees above normal for this time of year. Near record warmth is anticipated in Elko, Ely, and Tonopah Friday afternoon. Near record warmth is expected in Elko, Winnemucca, and Ely Saturday afternoon. Near record warmth is anticipated in Elko and Ely Sunday afternoon.
