.DISCUSSION...Low clouds, drizzle, and rain showers will clear out of
southern Indiana and northern Kentucky over the next few hours, with dry
weather expected tonight into Tuesday. A relatively deep low pressure system
will approach the region Tuesday into Tuesday night, bringing gusty south
winds during the day on Tuesday. Sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph, with wind
gusts of 20 to 30 mph are expected, especially during the late morning and
early afternoon hours. Good mixing heights combined with these increasing
transport winds should lead to more favorable dispersion conditions; however,
relative humidity values may be held up Tuesday afternoon by increasing
clouds and moisture from the southwest. Tuesday night into Wednesday, several
bands of showers, and possibly a few embedded thunderstorms, will move across
the region. Most likely rainfall amounts are expected between 0.75-1.50", with
the greatest rain amounts generally expected across southern Kentucky.
