163 FZUS61 KBUF 060202 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1002 PM EDT Sun Oct 5 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A large 30.3 inch high will remain anchored near the Mid-Atlantic coast through Monday. A cold front will then push southeast across the lower Great Lakes between Tuesday afternoon and early Tuesday evening. This will be followed by a strong 30.4 inch high that will build from the upper Great Lakes Wednesday to the lower Great Lakes and New England Thursday.
