068 FZUS61 KBUF 110802 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 402 AM EDT Mon May 11 2026 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.4 inch high will build from the upper Great Lakes today to the lower Great Lakes by Tuesday before drifting off the east coast Tuesday night. A 29.7 inch low will then move from the central Great Lakes Tuesday night to the lower Great Lakes Wednesday before drifting to the eastern seaboard Thursday. This low will remain over the Gulf of Maine through Friday before moving into the Canadian Maritimes Saturday.
