.DISCUSSION...
Wind-whipped snow (mixed with rain in some locations) is expected
this morning. Lake effect snow showers will then persist in portions
of northwest Indiana this afternoon. Strong northwesterly winds will
also occur today, especially during the morning, when gusts up to 40
mph will be possible behind a cold front.
Periodic chances for additional accumulating snowfall remain in the
forecast from late Thursday through late Saturday. Bitterly cold
temperatures and wind chills are expected over the weekend with
daytime temperatures expected to remain in the single digits and teens
while wind chills as low as 20 to 25 below zero occur during the
nighttime and morning hours.
