IMMEDIATE COAST MONDAY-FRIDAY DUE TO VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS WITH
INCREASED RISK FOR LARGE PLUME DOMINATED FIRE BEHAVIOR...
.DISCUSSION...
A deep marine layer maintainED cooler then normal temperatures today.
However, onshore winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 25 to 35 mph and
moderately dry conditions maintain seasonably elevated fire conditions
over the interior sections, especially in the Antelope Valley and adjacent
foothills. High pressure aloft will slowly build over the region by Monday
and persist through most of next week, brining warmer and drier conditions
away from the immediate coast. Temperatures could climb to between 100 and
105 degrees across hottest portions of the valleys, lower mountains, and deserts
from Tuesday through at least Friday. This combined with lower humidities,
and the increased risk for large plume dominated fire behavior will bring
widespread elevated fire weather conditions away from the immediate coast
from at least Monday through Friday, and possibly into next weekend.
