...Discussion from Monterey...

Surface high pressure will build across the Great Basin tonight and
Saturday morning, the high will weaken later in the weekend then
strengthen again late Sunday night and Monday. Meanwhile our
district will be under a nearly stationary upper level ridge of
high pressure which in combination with occasionally mainly weak
offshore winds, compressional warming aloft, a shallow marine layer
depth and a mid October sun angle will result in warm and dry
conditions through early next week. Humidity recoveries in the
higher elevations will remain moderate to more locally poor over the
Santa Lucia Mountains/Los Padres National Forest. Beginning by late
Monday night and early Tuesday an upper level low 500 miles
west-southwest of San Diego will move east-northeast across southern
California Wednesday. This will help open the door to a wet Pacific
weather pattern reaching northern California, including in our
district, beginning late next week.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.
