755 FZUS63 KMQT 262001 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 401 PM EDT Tue May 26 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Tonight, weak ridging of 30.1 inches builds in over Lake Superior thanks to a 30.4 inch high over the western shores of Hudson Bay. This parent high shifts southward over Lake Superior on Thursday, causing pressure to increase to 30.3 inches. On Friday, the high weakens to around 30.1 inches as it continues its southerly propagation. Following this, a second ridge pushing in from Hudson Bay brings 30.1 inch ridging back over Lake Superior late on Friday, with pressure increasing once again to 30.3 inches by Saturday midday as the parent high over Hudson Bay propogates south. High pressure over Lake Superior remains until Sunday evening and decreases to 30.1 inches Sunday night as the parent high moves toward the lower Great Lakes.
