122 FZUS63 KMQT 280901 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 AM EST Sun Dec 28 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Deepening low pressure over the Plains early this morning lifts into the Great Lakes this afternoon. This low deepens to 28.9 inches as it lifts to near the Straits of Mackinac by Monday morning. Meanwhile, a strong high pressure of at least 30.6 inches will spread across the Great Plains as the low lifts into Quebec on Monday. A 29.7 inch trough dives southeast into the Upper Great Lakes late Tuesday. Weak ridging of around 30.0 inches on Wednesday will be followed up by additional 29.6-29.7inch shortwaves skirting the region the rest of the work week.
