Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1000 PM EDT Wed Apr 22 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

30.0 inch high pressure shifts eastward over Lake Superior tonight
while a 29.4 inch low deepens to 29.1 inches over Montana. This low
then moves into southern Manitoba by Thursday evening. This sends
29.6 in troughing over Lake Superior Thursday night into Friday. As
the parent low weakens to 29.9 inches Saturday and remnant troughing
moves south of the Lower Great Lakes at 29.7 inches, 30.0 inch
ridging will build over Lake Superior. By late Sunday, this ridge
builds to 30.1 inches. Meanwhile, a 29.3 inch Colorado Low develops,
moving towards the Upper Midwest by early Monday, causing pressure
over Lake Superior to begin to fall rapidly toward 29.5 by mid-
Monday.
