Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1000 AM EST Sat Jan 24 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

30.8 inch high pressure centered over Wisconsin this morning is
maintaining 30.7 inch ridging over Lake Superior today. Ridging over
the lake weakens to 30.3 inches on Sunday as a 29.6 inch low moves
northeast along the Atlantic Coast. A 29.8 inch clipper low crosses
the lake Monday night into Tuesday. Another clipper low, much weaker
at 30.1 inches, grazes the northeast portion of the lake on
Wednesday. A strong high pressure descending from the Canadian
Prairie around 30.7 inches late next week brings ridging back to
Lake Superior, likely persisting into next weekend.
