Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Weak ridging of 29.7 inches over Lake Superior this afternoon will
shift east of the lake through this evening as 29.6 inch low
pressure broadly organizes over the Plains and 30.0 inch high
pressure resides over the Ohio River Valley. High pressure will
slide east tonight and build to 30.2 inches over the Mid Atlantic
states by Thursday morning while a 29.6 inch low moves from Manitoba
to northern Ontario. Meanwhile, a developing 29.4 inch Colorado Low
moves to the Upper Mississippi Valley by Thursday evening. The low
reaches northern Lower Michigan early Friday morning and then Quebec
by the evening hours with broad 30.6 inch high pressure building
over the Rockies in its wake. Friday night through Saturday, a low
will deepen from 29.9 to 29.7 inches as it moves from the Lower
Mississippi Valley to the Lower Great Lakes, reaching southern
Quebec Sunday morning as 30.5 inch high pressure overspreads the
Plains. The high slides south of the Great Lakes on Monday while a
29.6 inch low moves into northern Ontario.
