.DISCUSSION...
Hot and mainly dry conditions to prevail across the South Plains
area this weekend and into next week. Upper-level ridging will
confine rain chances to locations along the TX/NM state line and
across the far Southern Texas Panhandle late Saturday and Sunday,
followed by no meaningful rain chances Mon through Wed. Minimum RH
values will fall into the 20-25% range today and Sunday, then 15-25%
range Mon-Wed, with fair to good overnight moisture recovery. Winds
will remain generally from southeast to southwest during this
period...peaking around 15-20 mph each afternoon. Fuels continue to
deteriorate off the Caprock, but the overall threat of rapid fire spread
is low.
