.DISCUSSION...
Strong southerly winds sustained from 20 to 30 mph will continue off
the Caprock through the rest of the day, with winds becoming
westerly on the Caprock behind an eastward-moving dryline. Winds
will gradually decrease after sunset but will remain relatively
breezy overnight with sustained speeds near 15 mph. Wind direction
may also be rather variable overnight as a cold front slowly moves
southward through the region. A shift to northerly winds is expected
as the front progresses southward, with the wind shift coming first
to the SW TX Panhandle and South Plains overnight, then to the SE TX
Panhandle and Rolling Plains early Wednesday morning. Northeast to
east winds will then continue across most of the region in the wake
of the front through the day on Wednesday. RH recovery above 70
percent is expected tonight with minimum RH values above 30 percent
on Wednesday.
