.DISCUSSION...
After a cold front moved through, conditions have turned colder
with current temperatures in the low 20s. This comes with a west-
northwesterly wind that has begun to gust to around 20 mph. The
resultant upslope flow pattern will favor snow showers off and on
through the day. These may pick up in intensity by late this
afternoon into the evening as a disturbance in the upper
atmosphere tracks overhead. When it is all said and done, storm
total snow accumulations should be around 1 to 2 inches at the
site of this wildfire.
Aside from any wintry precipitation, the next couple of days will
be cold and blustery. Northwesterly winds today are likely to gust
to around 25 to 35 mph which will lower wind chills into the
teens. The mentioned disturbance that tracks through this evening
will aid in a further uptick in winds heading into tonight and
Tuesday. Overnight wind gusts may push into the 35 to 45 mph range
which is just short of Wind Advisory criteria. Conditions remain
chilly into Tuesday with westerly gusts up to 35 to 45 mph. This
will again drop wind chills down into the teens on Tuesday.
Temperatures turn milder toward the middle of the week, but with
continued elevated wind fields. Multiple days of these dry gusty
winds will likely further dry out fuels. Will need to continue to
monitor the situation given this may further elevated future fire
weather concerns.
