Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
124 PM CST Sat Nov 8 2025
.DISCUSSION...
In general, fire weather concerns remain low. A front brings much
cooler temperatures Sunday and Monday, as well as gusty winds
tonight. Later this week, min RHs once again drop below 15%,
especially along and west of the Pecos. ERCs remain in the
50-74th percentile for much of the region, but fire weather will
generally be capped at low-end Elevated conditions due to winds
staying below critical thresholds, with potential exceptions in
the Guadalupe and Sacramento Mountains (where gustier winds could
yield locally higher-end Elevated conditions).
For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather
Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
Service Office.
