Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
134 PM CDT Tue Sep 15 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH will remain above critical 15% through the weekend, with
good to excellent overnight recovery and light S/SE 20-ft winds
less than 20 mph. This is expected to offset continued warm
temperatures, fuel ERCs in the 50th to 74th percentile, and low
probability of fire starts from lightning and strong, erratic
winds in isolated storms. Therefore, fire weather conditions are
not expected throughout the period.
