Seas are provided as a range of the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves...along with the occasional height of the average highest 10 percent of the waves. Hazardous marine conditions are expected to persist through the middle of the week as strong northeasterly winds continue across the local waters. Frequent gusts to Gale force are expected to persist through Tuesday night over the Atlantic waters. Seas are forecast at 5 to 8 feet in the Gulf through mid-week and 10 to 14 feet across the Atlantic waters before decreasing late Wednesday and into the late week period. Scattered to numerous showers and a few storms are expected across the waters each day as well. Locally stronger winds and higher seas will be possible in and near heavier showers and thunderstorms. Marine conditions are expected to gradually improve during the second half of the week. Gulf Stream Hazards: Winds 25-35 knots with gusts to 40 knots and seas 10-14 feet.
