As Hurricane Erin passes east of the Florida peninsula early this week, flow across local waters will be veering northerly through the day today and will remain northerly through Tuesday. Surface winds become northwesterly by the middle of the week and westerly towards the end of the week as Erin continues northward. Northeasterly swell from this system may increase wave heights across the northern Gulf stream waters towards the middle of this week, however current guidance indicates that conditions should remain below hazardous levels at this time. Scattered showers and thunderstorms may affect the local waters each day this week. Any showers or thunderstorms are capable of producing brief periods of rough seas and gusty winds. Gulf Stream Hazards: None.
