Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
245 PM PDT Mon Sep 7 2026

.DISCUSSION...A strengthening thermal trough will bring strong
warming and drying to inland areas through midweek. Expect moderate
to locally poor ridge top humidity recoveries early Tuesday through
early Thursday. Breezy to gusty easterly winds are expected over the
coastal ridges Tuesday morning and again over the higher terrain west
of the Cascades Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Warmest days with
low afternoon humidity will be Wednesday and Thursday. Expect an uptick
in westerly breezes Thursday and Friday with a cooling trend Friday
into this weekend. Precipitation chances remain low for the most part,
but some showers are possible (20-40% chance) Saturday, especially
along the coast and into Douglas County.
