.DISCUSSION...
High pressure dominates the local pattern through the weekend,
supporting near to below normal rain chances each afternoon.
Scattered showers and storms (30-40%) are forecast for portions of
the area each day, though most locations will likely remain dry.
However, drier air aloft could support a few strong wind gusts near
50 mph in any storms, as well as lightning strikes and locally heavy
downpours producing quick accumulations of 1-3". Convection is
forecast to peak along the sea breeze and outflow collisions in the
afternoon, though storms may linger through the evening hours due to
slow storm motions.
Light offshore winds under 10 mph back S/SE at the coast in the
afternoons with the development of the sea breeze, then return to
light overnight. No min RH concerns, with fair to good dispersion
today and Saturday, but poor to fair dispersion on Friday. High
temperatures in the 90s and humid conditions will continue to lead
to heat indices near 108+ degrees. Additional Heat Advisories are
likely through the weekend.
Fog potential...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
