.DISCUSSION...
Post-frontal conditions today with precip not forecast, but we will
have to deal with low stratus clouds this morning, before gradual
clearing this afternoon. Patchy fog may also be possible early this
morning. High pressure behind the front builds into the southeast
U.S., then shifts south Thursday. Winds 5-10 mph shift from the NW-
NNW today to the NE-ENE Thursday. Min RHs 50% or higher today,
dropping a bit Thursday but still 40% or higher. Afternoon
dispersion values Poor to Fair today/Thursday, and may creep back
into Fair to Generally Good for Friday. Rain chances 10% or less
through Friday, but they do enter the forecast again for this
weekend ahead of another approaching front and as moisture, again,
surges into the area.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, low stratus clouds are forecast through this morning before
improvement in cloud ceilings in the afternoon. Patchy fog may also
be around early this morning. Localized visibility reductions due to
smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not
forecast.
