.DISCUSSION...
Overnight, a quarter to a half inch of rain fell in the vicinity of
the Ridge Fire. Gusty west winds 20-30 mph and dry conditions will
be the rule today as a cold front has departed east of Upper
Michigan. Cooler air returning to the region only lifts high temps
near 50 today, keeping min RHs near 50-60%. Gusty winds slowly
diminish tonight, allowing temps to fall into the 30s (low 30s if
cloud cover decreases) and good RH recovery near 100%. Similar
conditions will be found on Friday albiet a bit drier with less cloud
cover, allowing better mixing into a drying airmass aloft and RHs to
fall into the 40s, maybe even the upper 30s. However, with
decreasing winds and temps still only reaching near 50, no critical
fire weather conditions are expected.
