Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Missoula MT

...An Atmospheric River to bring moderate to heavy rainfall,
potentially leading to rises in small streams along with minor
impacts due to rock and mudslides...

Where: Lincoln, Sanders, and Mineral counties in Montana. Clearwater
and Idaho counties in Idaho.

When: Monday and Tuesday early next week.

What: An Atmospheric River is expected to bring high amounts of
moisture resulting in moderate to heavy rainfall to areas of western
Montana and north-central Idaho early next week. The Clearwater
Mountains in north-central Idaho currently have around a 60%
probability of receiving at least 1" of rainfall in a 24hr period
from Monday to Tuesday. These probabilities are much lower for
western Montana, around 20-30%. High elevation snowmelt coupled
with high surface moisture, along with expected rainfall, will
increase the risk for minor impacts due to rock and mudslides. Area
small streams and creeks will also see a noticeable rise in water
levels.

Continue to monitor the forecast for updates as we progress through
the weekend.
