The marine layer is around 1800 feet deep and will gradually compress to around 1,000 feet by Saturday as modest ridging builds from the south. This will also bring warmer temperatures and lower RH. The interior mountains will likely drop below 15% RH on Saturday, as temperatures climb into the 90s. Fortunately winds will remain moderate an onshore, but the standard afternoon breeze will bring a brief period of elevated fire weather concerns, particularly across gaps and passes in the interior East Bay. Similar conditions are expected Sunday with only marginal improvement through the week. ...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA... ...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT DUE TO LOW RH AND BREEZY WEST- SOUTWEST WINDS FOR HIGHER TERRAIN IN ZONES 277, 283 & 284 FRIDAY AFTERNOON... Low daytime RH values in the teens and single digits over the higher terrain, especially in Trinity, Lake, and northeastern Mendocino. Winds will mostly be diurnally and terrain driven, with locally breezy conditions over the ridges. Poor overnight recoveries with values in the mid 20`s to mid 30`s is forecast for the far interior ridges, while onshore marine moisture will continue to promote good RH recoveries for area below the inversion (<2500 feet). Some slight improvement in the minimum RH and recoveries are expected for Friday and through the weekend. An enhanced breezy west and southwest is forecast for Friday over the interior higher terrain where wind gusts over 25 mph are probable (40 to 60%), especially in Trinity and Lake counties. ##################################################################### ## ## ## Complete a discussion for each ECCDA segment below ## ## When done click transmit, product sent as KMTRFWLMTR ## ## ## ##################################################################### ECC010-291000- St Helena ECC Dispatch- DISCUSSION FOR Marin and Sonoma and Napa Counties 250 PM PDT Thu Aug 28 2025 The marine layer is around 1800 feet deep and will gradually compress to around 1,000 feet by Saturday as modest ridging builds from the south.
