Issued by NWS Pendleton, OR
231 FNUS56 KPDT 081308 FWFPDT Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Oregon and SE Washington National Weather Service Pendleton OR 608 AM PDT Wed Oct 8 2025 .DISCUSSION...Dry and seasonal conditions will persist across the forecast area today. An incoming system will however, bring cooling temperatures and moisture to the region over the weekend with wetting rains likely (60-80%) by the weekend. The cooler air will also bring snow levels down allowing for snow accumulations above 4-5kft. Winds will be locally breezy with most areas seeing winds below 10 mph. Min RHs will be poor to good (20-40%) with overnight recoveries moderate trending excellent by the weekend (60-80%). ***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages*** ***CWR-chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater*** ***Ventilation Index is derived from the transport wind multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of feet. Index categories are a generalized indicator and users are encourage to develop criteria that are suitable and representative of dispersion conditions in their local area of interest.*** Note: Max transport winds may not occur at the same time as max mixing height.
