FIRE WEATHER ZONES OR700, 703, 704, AND 705 FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING...
.DISCUSSION...Main threat through Thursday will be strong isolated
to scattered thunderstorms developing across the Cascades,
eastern mountains, western portions of the Columbia Basin, and the
Yakima/Kittitas valleys. With unseasonably dry fuels in place,
thunderstorms with frequent lightning will produce a critical fire
weather threat. Breezy winds will develop through the Cascade
gaps tomorrow afternoon, but an associated marine push will keep
fire weather conditions from becoming critical. Warm and dry
conditions develop Friday into the weekend, with isolated
thunderstorm threat returning early next week.
***Thunderstorms imply strong gusty winds ***
***Winds are 20 foot 10 minute averages ***
***CWR: Chance of wetting rain 0.10 or greater ***
***Ventilation Index is derived from transport wind
multiplied by the mixing height in 100`s of ft.
Categories are a generalized indicator and users
are encourage to develop criteria that are
suitable and representative of dispersion
conditions in their local area of interest.
Categories: low (< 200), moderate (200-500),
high (500-700), and very high (> 700).
-Note: Max transport winds may not occur
at the same time as max mixing height. ***
