.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 246 PM MDT Sun Sep 13 2026

Winds remain the main story of the day as gusts continue to
increase especially across the northern half of the Snake River
Plain this afternoon. Wind Advisory remains in effect for Zones
52 and 67 (Arco/Mud Lake and Beaverhead/Lemhi regions) until
early evening, with winds diminishing below 30 mph during the
evening but remaining breezy overnight. Weak feature rotating
around the center of low to the west times out to pass through
East Idaho this evening into the overnight. CAMs have picked up
on potential for light showers across the eastern highlands late
this evening, shifting east out of the state by sunrise.
Daytime temps remain cool today compared to previous days, but
deepest cooling arrives Monday with temperatures dropping into
the mid to upper 60s for most.

East Idaho remains under the influence of trough to the west for
much of the week. Gradual warming trend will be in place with
dry conditions into mid week. By Thursday, next low feature
shifts toward the region, and models are depicting trajectory
similar to current low. East Idaho could see precipitation
develop for Thursday and Friday, along with another round of
breezy winds.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z TUESDAY/...
Issued at 1019 PM MDT Sun Sep 13 2026

Expect VFR conditions for all TAFs sites through the period.
Another burst of wind is moving in from the west currently
bringing a second push of cold air as an upper trof moves
through. Gusts of 20 to 30 mph are currently over BYI and PIH
and will move over IDA and DIJ in the next couple of hours.
Breezy winds will continue into tomorrow afternoon before
dropping off by mid to late afternoon into the early evening
tomorrow. May see a period of showers at DIJ with the upper trof
after 06Z this evening as well but still VFR conditions are
expected. Look for skies to become clear by early tomorrow
morning for all TAF sites.

Strong wind gusts the main impact this evening mainly in zone 410

are above 15 percent. Will see occasional gusts up to 30 mph return
after midnight through Monday morning as a second push of cold air
and the upper level trof moves through. Humidity will be well above
15 percent on Monday though. Will be much cooler Monday with a
warming trend beginning again on Tuesday. Next chance for more
