Additionally, the upper air sounding from this afternoon depicts a dry and stable atmospheric profile. Expect scattered showers and east winds of 10 to 15 mph to remain in the forecast tonight. However, the latest model data suggests that winds will diminish further Friday morning, resulting in a light breeze through Saturday. As a ridge builds to the southwest over the weekend, expect an uptick in showers Saturday night as easterly winds converge with southeasterly winds. This pattern will develop a trough over the islands, shifting winds to the southeast and increasing them slightly to near 20 mph.
