Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
214 PM SST Sat Nov 22 2025

.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT...Latest satellite data shows the
territory at the edge of a trough. Showers embedded within the
trough prompted a flash flood warning and advisory from this
morning up to 4 PM. The flash flood watch remains in effect as
showers continue to develop in the area. Model trends are still
forecasting a diminishing risk of flash flooding for tonight as a
low pressure system near Fiji pulls the trough towards it. Expect
showers to gradually diminish from numerous to scattered over
night. A ridge to the northeast is expected to bring stable
weather Sunday morning. Fair weather conditions will hold
through midweek.

.Long term...
TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...The aforementioned ridge is anticipated
to be the dominant weather feature through midweek. Expect light
winds and isolated to scattered showers for this time. However,
Model trends brings a trough to the south over the Islands by
Wednesday night. Expect an uptick in showers for this time,
lasting through the end of the week.

.Marine...
Seas continue to subside as the high pressure system from previous
forecasts have diminished. Wave heights around now around 5 to 7
feet, which prompted the cancellation for the high surf and small
craft advisories. No significant swells are expected to move in
the area for the new week.
