Latest satellite loops shows showers associated with a trough moving south of the Islands. This is due to a low pressure system south of Tonga, which continues to pull moisture and instability away from the territory as it migrates poleward. Hence, expect a gentle breeze and isolated to scattered showers tonight through Friday night. Thereafter, a strong high pressure system will build near New Zealand, thus pushing the aforementioned trough back north and over the Islands Saturday. A slight uptick in showers is possible for this time, though the trough isn`t expected to be active as it moves across the territory. By Sunday, the ridge will move the trough further north as it strengthens. Another round of breezy winds will dominate in the area Monday through the end of the week. .Marine... Latest observations shows seas have diminished below advisory thresholds (below 8 feet) as winds have subsided. Expect calm seas to remain through Saturday, before building Saturday afternoon as a large set of swells moves in the area; a high surf advisory and small craft advisory may be issued by this time. However, choppy seas and high surfs will prolong through the new week as winds build in the area Monday due to the ridge. && .PPG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... None && $$ TM
