...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 AM MST EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including the
  following county, Maricopa.

* WHEN...Until 315 AM MST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1211 AM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    already occurring in the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.1 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Phoenix, Glendale, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Metro Center,
    North Mountain Park, Downtown Glendale, Downtown Peoria,
    Arrowhead Mall and Glendale Sports Complex.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
