Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
306 PM MST Sat Jul 25 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Daily chances for afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms
will exist over portions of the eastern districts into early this
upcoming work week, with better chances focused over the higher
terrain. Strong, gusty winds and long-lived outflows will be the
main concern this evening. Very hot, above normal temperatures
will continue, but several degrees cooler Sunday and Monday
compared to Saturday thanks to increased cloud cover and high
pressure weakening and shifting northward. Afternoon minimum
humidities between 15-20% in the western districts will follow
overnight recoveries around 25-55%, and in the eastern districts,
afternoon humidities between 20-25% will be common following fair
to good overnight recoveries between 35-60%. Outside of
thunderstorms, winds will follow typical diurnal tendencies with
afternoon/early evening upslope gusts around 15-25 mph.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
