Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
1244 AM MST Fri Aug 21 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Drier air will work it`s way into the region for today and
tomorrow resulting in low end isolated shower and storm chances
across the higher terrain areas with the lower deserts remaining
dry. With minimal storm chances, temperatures will heat back up to
around 5 to 8 degrees above normal. MinRHs will be around 15-25%
today and drop to around 12-20% tomorrow with overnight recovery
of 30-50%. Winds should overall follow the typical diurnal
tendencies with some modest afternoon upslope gustiness.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
