.DISCUSSION...
Abnormally hot temperatures and very dry conditions will prevail
through Tuesday, but fire weather conditions are expected to
remain below critical levels, due to only minor afternoon
breeziness. Afternoon temperatures will reach up to 102-109, with
the higher temperatures today. These hot temperatures will help
lead to very low humidity values, with afternoon minimums down to
3-10% and overnight recoveries mostly under 20%. Winds will tend
to follow typical diurnal and terrain influences, with light
north to northeast drainage winds down the Mesquite Wash during
the overnight hours and then veering to a southerly by midday and
then west to southwest component in the afternoons. Sustained
speeds will increase to around 10 mph in the afternoons with
potential for westerly gusts up to 15-20 mph. Afternoon mixing
heights will be up to around 8000-9000 ft above the ground both
this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon, but overall low level
instability is expected to be low. Skies will be clear.
