...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM MST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding along the Rio Grande near Monte Vista is forecasted
  to begin by late morning on Monday.

* WHERE...East Central Rio Grande County in south central Colorado...
  West Central Alamosa County in southeastern Colorado...

* WHEN...Until 730 PM MST Monday.

* IMPACTS...The Rio Grande continues to rise due to upstream flooding
  through Del Norte and South Fork. Extensive inundation of low-lying
  areas adjacent to the river is expected. Inundation of low spots
  along Highway 185, some homes, and other structures may be possible
  for areas south of the river. Expect many areas of slow moving or
  standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 717 PM MST, Upstream stream gauges on the Rio Grande and South
    Fork Rio Grande indicate that flooding is occurring.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
