.Discussion...
Temperatures will remain hot across southern Colorado through
Monday, with Plains areas in the 90s to near 100, especially Monday.
Moisture will remain in place across the eastern half of the district
with drier air out west, spreading eastward into the adjacent plains
Monday. Elevated meteorological fire weather conditions are forecast
for Monday and Tuesday out west. Showers and thunderstorms will
increase across the plains on Tuesday as a cold front moves in.
Cooler weather will persist for Wednesday with drier and warmer weather
returning for late week into next weekend. Elevated fire weather
conditions will return for Thursday through Saturday across much
of the district, and will need to watch fuel conditions closely for
changes, especially for the San Luis Valley and the western mountains
where precipitation has been more limited lately.
Smoke dispersions will be poor this morning, becoming excellent for
this afternoon across the district. Dispersions will fall off to
poor overnight into Monday morning.
