...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN NASH...NORTHERN
EDGECOMBE AND HALIFAX COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM EDT...

At 507 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 13 miles southwest of Halifax to near Tarboro.
Movement was northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Roanoke Rapids, Halifax, Scotland Neck, Enfield, Weldon, Whitakers,
Hobgood, Leggett, Glenview, and Battleboro.

This includes Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 173 and 150.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
