...A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL
WAYNE... SOUTHWESTERN NASH...NORTHEASTERN HARNETT...SOUTHWESTERN
WILSON AND JOHNSTON COUNTIES THROUGH 815 PM EDT...

At 724 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles north of Benson, or 12 miles west of Smithfield, moving
northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Clayton, Angier, Benson, Fremont, Bailey, Micro, Selma,
Erwin, and Coats.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
