Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Dry conditions will continue across Mount Rainier
National Park today. Shower chances will increase across the park
Tuesday night into Wednesday as a system moves across the area.
Strong winds are expected near the summit of the mountain on
Wednesday. A cooler system moving into the region Friday into the
weekend will bring additional shower chances and will bring snow
levels down to 5000-6000 ft by the weekend.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit will make it difficult to
move safely and could produce local whiteout conditions on
Wednesday. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping
in these conditions.

.MONDAY NIGHT...Mostly clear. Freezing level near 11500 feet.
.TUESDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 11500 feet.
.TUESDAY NIGHT...Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in
the evening, then mostly cloudy with a chance of showers after
midnight. Snow level near 8500 feet.
.WEDNESDAY...Partly sunny. Showers likely in the morning, then a
chance of showers in the afternoon. Snow level near 7000 feet.
