.DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions are again expected over much of the area today,
although a complex (or remnants thereof) of showers and thunderstorms over
Central and Eastern Oklahoma will shift south-southeast into Southeast
Oklahoma and Northeast Texas later this morning, and focus renewed
shower and thunderstorm development through the day across the remainder of
the region. Isolated strong to severe storms can not be ruled out, with locally
gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall the main threats, with additional showers
and thunderstorms persisting through this evening across portions of Northeast
Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and Southeast Oklahoma along a stationary front,
before diminishing late. As a weak upper level trough settles south into
the region Monday, additional scattered showers and thunderstorms will again
be possible areawide, before the remnants of this trough weakens and settles over
Southeast Texas and Central/Northeast Louisiana Tuesday and Wednesday, focusing
mainly diurnally driven isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over
Deep East Texas and North Louisiana. The unsettled weather pattern will continue
into Thursday with the passage of another upper level disturbance, before
upper level ridging expands east across the area Friday into next weekend,
returning drier conditions to the region. Temperatures will be on the rise as
well by mid and late week, with readings climbing into the mid 90s. Coupled
with the humidity, heat indices will range from 100-105 degrees for mid and
late week into next weekend.
