Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
305 PM CDT Sun Oct 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Low level moisture and the potential for isolated to scattered showers and a
few thunderstorms will continue to increase as an upper level disturbance
just off the Southeast Louisiana coast lifts north into the region late tonight
and Monday. Min RH`s Monday will range from 55-70+%, with the cloud cover also
resulting in near to below normal temperatures. Rainfall amounts of a tenth to a
quarter of an inch will be possible through Monday night, mainly over portions of
North Louisiana and Southern Arkansas, with lighter amounts (if any) expected
elsewhere. This disturbance will eventually become absorbed into a weak frontal
system Tuesday, although isolated to widely scattered showers and a few
thunderstorms will remain possible as this boundary drifts south through the area.
Little if any cooler air will follow the front, before temperatures begin to climb
back above normal late this week into next weekend as an upper level ridge of
high pressure begins to build north and east across the Southern Plains. No
additional rainfall is expected through at least mid-month.
